Connect with the community with laughs and great food
Supportive companionship enhancing seniors’ lives and promoting independence daily.

Neighborhood Companions, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Baltimore County, Maryland.
Neighborhood Companions, Inc. provides transportation and companionship services to seniors in the vibrant communities of Baltimore County, with a focus on Dundalk/Turner Station. We proudly serve residents within the zip codes of 21219 to 21224, bringing support and companionship to enhance the lives of our neighbors. Our mission is to help older adults maintain their independence and enhance their quality of life.
It all began with a phone call. Arkia Wade, a resident of Turner Station, received a request from a senior woman in her community—a simple ask for a ride to a doctor’s appointment.
For those who prefer to make a financial contribution, we welcome donations that fuel our mission and enable us to expand our reach. Every dollar you contribute goes directly toward supporting the various programs and services that uplift and empower those we serve.
For those interested in becoming a volunteer and making a positive impact on the lives of older adults, we encourage you to join our compassionate team. Your time can make a world of difference.
Volunteer drivers and companions are required to pass a background screening, and drivers must have state vehicle insurance. Volunteers indicate their availability, and their information is entered into Assist Rides..
We provide vital volunteer transportation and companionship services to empower older adults, fostering independence, dignity, and joyful living. Join us in building a compassionate community where everyone thrives!
When it comes to our Seniors, we always make time and show our appreciation for the community they played such a large role in shaping. It is our duty to serve and protect the more vulnerable yet valuable members of our society.
